Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the terms and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of the name or place entered in that field.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or direct message may be retained for the time needed to answer it and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems receive basic technical and usage details when a page loads, including:

The published material identifies official Essex County sources, including courts, local agencies, county Corrections, New Jersey State Police, and the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal-history file, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy terms, retention choices, and sharing rules rather than this policy. Review those terms before sending a query because we cannot set or enforce the provider's practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links can lead to New Jersey courts, NJSP, Essex agencies, public-service organizations, or outside search providers. Once another website opens, its policy applies. Check that policy before providing personal or payment information.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across sites or choose ads. Their systems control that processing.

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- A search provider when you choose to use its tool
- Analytics and hosting services that process traffic or performance data

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information under our control. No online system can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such data is identified, it will be removed as required.

Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. New Jersey separately limits criminal-history dissemination through N.J.S.A. 53:1-20.5 and 53:1-20.6, though this site does not hold NJSP criminal-history files. Subject to lawful exceptions, you may:
