Why We Built This Site
New Jersey offers several official access paths, yet no public portal joins the full Essex record. Police agencies keep their own reports. Essex Corrections answers county custody questions, while the Sheriff handles sheriff-created reports and Superior Court warrants. Municipal and Superior Courts hold different case files. New Jersey State Police maintains the fingerprint-supported repository and Internet registry. We built this reference to show those boundaries and collect the verified request steps, contact details, and search controls that help a reader choose the right source.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, with no affiliation to a New Jersey court, police department, sheriff, county office, or state agency. Those limits mean:
- Official checks and personal criminal histories cannot be ordered from us
- We do not submit OPRA requests, expungement petitions, or court forms for a visitor
- Certified files, dispositions, and rap sheets must come from their public custodian
- We cannot interpret a charge, warrant, or relief rule as legal advice
- Agency fees, schedules, and portal functions may change after publication
An official Essex record must come from the court, law-enforcement agency, Corrections, or New Jersey State Police office that maintains it.
